  1. Dr. Kevin Koury (my first doc student), Former Dean - College of Education and Human Services at California University of Pennsylvania, received for first endowed chair of the university in 2004--the Jeff and Beverly Berger Faculty Fellowship. Recently retired.
  2. Dr. Cheryl Murphy (one of my first students at West Virginia University) is Vice Provost for Distance Education and former chair of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas.
  3. Dr. Lee Ann (Hill) Miller (one of my first students at West Virginia University) is now Assistant Director of Education, WV STEPS, West Virginia University Hospitals
  4. Dr. Nari Kim, is the 2016 EAA/CR Meyer Endowed Professorship at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, an NSF Early Career Scholarship recipient, and recipient of numerous featured research and journal article awards including the “DDL Distance Education Journal Award” for “Advancing Practice.”
  5. Dr. Rovy Branon is the Vice Provost for University of Washington Continuum College. In this role, he oversees all UW Professional and Continuing Education programs and staff. Previously Branon was the associate dean for online learning and the executive director of the Academic Advanced Distributed Learning Co-Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Extension in Madison.
  6. Dr. Charles R. Graham is a Professor, department chair, and former associate dean for research of the Brigham Young University McKay School of Education. In 2015 Charles became a Fellow of the Online Learning Consortium “For outstanding achievement in advancing theory, research and effective practice in online and blended learning.”
  7. Dr. Mary Annette Rose of Ball State University was the 2005 Wedemeyer Award for Outstanding Scholar in Distance Education for her dissertation research. She also received the 2012 Paul T. Hiser Exemplary Publication Award, and the 2016 Vivian Z. Conley Award for Outstanding Achievement in Environmental Education.
  8. Dr. Vanessa Dennen is the Mack and Effie Campbell Tyner Distinguished Professor of Education at Florida State University, designer and Academic Director of the Online EdD in Instructional Systems & Learning Technologies, Editor of The Internet and Higher Education, and recipient of the FSU Graduate Teaching Award, Transforming Through Teaching Award, FSU College of Education Graduate Teaching Award, FSU Excellence in Online Teaching Award, and FSU Innovative Use of Instructional Technology Award.
  9. Dr. Thanomporn (Toh) Laohajaratsang is Director at the Information Technology Service Center and Associate Professor in Educational Technology at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. She has worked as an International Researcher for The Center for the Advancement of Research & Development in Educational Technology (CARDET), Expert for UNESCO in Bangkok, Consultant for a number of institutes in the public and private sectors including the Thai Ministry of Education, and educational game developer.
  10. Dr. Feng-Kwei Wang is formerly Distinguished Professor and Director, Media and Digital Design Program in the School of Continuous Education, Chinese Culture University, Taiwan. Currently, he is Professor, EMBA Program, Tunghai University, Taiwan
  11. Dr. Sang Yoon is Senior Manager of Learning and Development at Apple. Previously, he was Director of the Haas Business School at UC Berkeley and Chief Digital Officer. Previously, he was the head of learning strategy and technology at Google. And before that was the founding director of the digital strategy solutions at Stanford Business School.
  12. Dr. Brian Beatty is Professor and former Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs Operations, overseeing the use of academic technologies across the university.
  13. Dr. John Savery recently retired as Professor at the University of Akron and Director of Learning Technologies.
  14. Dr. Ching-Fen Chang is Associate Professor & Chief of Chinese Language Division, the Institute of TESOL and Language Teaching and Research Center, National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan.
  15. Dr. Erin Crisp is Chief Academic Officer at CampusEdu. Previously, she was Executive Director of the Center for Learning and Innovation at Indiana Wesleyan University.
  16. Dr. Jessi Yi. Jessi is formerly with Motorola in Chicago, Vodaphone in London, and Salesforce in London (Customer Success Director) is now with Genesys as Vice President of Global Customer Success.

  18. Dr. Bude Su is Professor and Chairperson of the School of Computing and Design at California State University Monterey Bay.
  19. Dr. Xiaojing Kou is a faculty member at Indiana University and currently Director of the Center for Language Technology (CeLT) at Indiana University.
  20. Dr. John Graves is currently a change management consultant in San Francisco and formerly a change management consultant with Accenture in Chicago and Emerson Human Capital Consulting in Alameda, CA. He is also founder of Adventure and Endurance Athlete.
  21. Dr. Khendum Gyabak just became Director of Online Teaching and Learning for Minneapolis College of Art and Design (formerly educational technologies consultant at the University of Minnesota).
  22. Dr. Noriko Hara is Professor and Chair of Information Science in the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University and editor of Global Wikipedia and author of Communities of Practice: Fostering Peer-to-Peer Learning and Informal Knowledge Sharing in the Work Place.
  23. Dr. Meina Zhu is Assistant Professor at Wayne State University with over 30 research publications in her first 2-3 years at WSU and editor (with me) of Transformative Teaching Around the World: Stories of Cultural Impact, Technology Integration, and Innovative Pedagogy to be published by Routledge in 2022. Meina received an early career award from AERA in 2021.
  24. Dr. Emily Hixon is the Founding Director of the Center for Faculty Excellence at Purdue University Northwest and Professor of Education.
  25. Dr. Kira King is a Senior Learning Experience Designer, Kynectiv/ReachMD and freelance contractor. She was also co-editor (with me) of Electronic Collaborators: Learner-Centered Technologies for Literacy, Apprenticeship, and Discourse published by Lawrence Erlbaum.
  26. Dr. Inae Kang, Professor, Kyung Hee University, Seoul, Korea. Wrote widely acclaimed book in Korea on constructivism. Also known for her work on PBL and carnival pedagogy.
  27. Dr. Ana-Paula Correia is a Professor of Learning Technologies in the Department of Educational Studies at Ohio State University. Correia is also the Director of the Center on Education and Training for Employment.
  28. Dr. Yunjo An is Associate Professor and Department Chair at the University of North Texas.
  29. Dr. Susie Gronseth is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Learning, Design, and Technology program area in the College of Education at the University of Houston. She is the recipient of the Early Career Alumni Award from Indiana University in 2020.

39.  Dr. Sonny Kirkley is adjunct Professor in Indiana Univ. School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI. He is an innovator, entrepreneur, designer and co-founder of seven technologies companies, including IU's first two spin-out companies -- Information in Place, Inc. and WisdomTools, Inc. -- where he served as CEO for each a combined 16 years. He is currently the president of two startups in the public safety sector with connections to IU -- Zenext (voice AI) and iMixedReality (augmented reality) --

He is formerly Director of Learning and Organizational Performance at Emmis Communications, Leadership Development at KAR Global, and Director of Organizational Effectiveness at Anthem.

Dr. Maria Solomou is an Experience Design, Consulting and Organizational Development professional currently working at PwC’s Experience Center in Cyprus as a Senior Manager. After obtaining her Ph.D. in Learning Sciences and Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University, she received her MBA.
  3. Min Young Doo, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, College of Education, Kangwon National University, Korea. First place paper award at AECT in Chicago in November 2021.
  4. Dr. Shuya Zu is a Senior Instructional Designer with TechSoup.
