Jasper Woodbury/Vanderbilt Anchored Instruction Videos
This is a site wherein Vanderbilt University took their
work on anchored instruction and macrocontexts in Math
and Science and converted it to the Web. Most of this
work was on video previously. It is an example of how
to contextualize student math and science problem solving
and it is very popular and worth looking at. There are
many examples of problem solving here and also social
interaction and negotiation as Vygotsky pointed are
important to learning.
Electronic Mentoring Website
Here are a ton of useful resources for adding electronic
mentors to a course or learning situation. It is amazing!!!
Going the Distance: Collaborative Learning Support Site
for Distance Educators
This site has a taxonomy of collaborative learning tools,
electronic articles, tons of Web links, resources, term
definitions, and links to software companies. This site
was created for Paula Holder for my P600: Interactive
Technologies for Learning and Collaboration class; additional
glossary terms are being added. I think the School of
Business Instructional Support Services is using this
resource.
Internet
Resources for K-12 Collaboration
At this site you will find extremely interesting Web
sites to get kids and teachers in K-12 schools to electronically
collaborate. There are tons of great resources here!!!
Do check it out.
