MOOCs and Open Education is an authoritative and promising new book having to do with massively open online courses and open educational resources. Online learning has rapidly improved in terms of interactivity and the capacity to reach people in nations all around the world since the emergence of the Internet. The transformative technological influence of the World Wide Web makes possible powerful forms of communication and interaction which are essential for digital learning. There are not many trends in digital elearning technology over the past few decades that can match the sudden arrival of massively open online courses. We can no longer cover these massively open online courses with one definition because there are many different categories of MOOC courses. Some MOOC courses are based on video discussions plus facilitated interaction or discussion forums. Some MOOC courses are in response to decades-long increases in the demand for instruction and blended learning. These MOOC courses are noticeably a powerful change agent influencing technology-enhanced learning today.

The fifth part of this book is about “Innovative Courses, Programs, and Models of Instruction” and includes Chapter #15 which is titled “Learning about MOOCs by Talking to Students”.
